Can you tell us anything about your new projects?TimeGate is currently working on a number of next-generation projects, including a product based on a AAA franchise with a major publisher.
What does it mean when we hear a game has gone "gold?"This means that a Gold Master has been approved by the publisher for duplication. In practical terms, this means that our publisher has put their "stamp of approval" on the finished game and we burn a CD to send to be duplicated. It means we're done with the game and its time to throw a "Gone Gold" party!
What is TimeGate Studios' patching policy?Most patches are made to address bugs or technical issues that have been discovered in the game. Patches may also contain balance changes, new content, or performance update. Our patches download automatically whenever you attempt to enter the multiplayer menu with an outdated version.
Why don't you provide release dates for patches?It is simply too difficult to tell when a patch will be fully prepared for public consumption. While we can make estimates on when we believe the patch will be completed, we cannot predict with any certainty when it will be 100% ready.
Will you be putting out regular updates on the patch process?We understand that some people are interested in following the patching process very closely, but the majority of consumers only care about a patch after it has been installed and is affecting gameplay. It is not beneficial for us to keep the community informed of our internal patch testing.
Tournaments - Can I host one? How do I go about this? Will TimeGate help me in any way?You may feel free to host any tournaments you like, so long as you do not infringe upon the End User License Agreements included in our games, nor with the rights of any other parties including copyrights, trademarks or other rights. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any logistical support in the formation or running of any tournaments. We will however be glad to post links and news of the tournament on the appropriate pages of our official sites.
What does TimeGate offer in the area of supporting Clans?While we do not directly support Clans, we do feature fansites that often have links to many of the clans that regularly compete in online play. WebsiteAre there any legal notices and disclaimers that I need to have on my site when discussing your products?Yes. You must include all copyright, trademark and other notices as appropriate.
Can I put your patches and demos on my web site for download?Yes, but they cannot be modified versions and you must adhere to the respective EULA that applies.
Can I put my own "home-made" maps on my web site for download?Most definitely. We are happy to see players building their own maps and campaigns for distribution to other players.
Can I translate your site into another language if no such site exists?No. We would have no control over the quality, accuracy or content of such translated sites.
LicensingDo you have any plans for Kohan books, comics, or movies?We are pursuing different methods of getting the Kohan franchise into mainstream media. Keep an eye out to the homepage for any official announcement.
What do you have to say about total conversions, mods, and user-constructed campaigns?We have no problems with total conversions, so long as they are for personal use and do not infringe upon the End User License Agreements included in our games, nor with the rights of any other parties including copyrights, trademarks or other rights.
Do you accept suggestions for games?As part of our policy, we don't accept any unsolicited ideas for review.
Can I register a domain names containing some portion of your product names such as "Immortal-Sovereigns.com" or "Ahrimans-Gift.com?"Yes, but please list & link the official game sites as to prevent confusion. If you have any doubts about appropriate domain usage, you may contact us and ask.
Can I make add-ons or expansions for TimeGate Studios' games? Can I sell them?You may make and distribute Axis & Allies, Kohan: Immortal Sovereigns or Kohan: Ahriman's Gift maps and campaigns that you have created, so long as it is for non-commercial purposes. You may not profit commercially from anything derived from our products as outlined in the EULA.
Can I sell CD's I make containing maps, add-ons or campaigns found on the Internet?Absolutely not. Please take the time to carefully read through the EULA provided with our products.
Can I write novels, screenplays, theatrical productions or other adaptations based on your games?No, you may not publish derivative works based on our games. TimeGate Studios reserves the right to extend and expand our properties to other media; this is to ensure that a consistent story and universe is maintained for our franchise.
Can I develop an expansion pack, novel, screenplay, or other adaptation based on the Kohan franchise?
If you have a formal proposal, you may contact TimeGate Studios in regards to any of these. Please call, contact, or write us.
Technical and General SupportI lost my CD key, how do I obtain a new one?You must contact the publisher of the game in order to obtain a new CD key. TimeGate Studios cannot send you a new CD key.
