Those That Work Together Play Together
At TimeGate, we like to think of ourselves as a tightly knit group. We work hard together, and we play hard together. Work too much, though, and we start to go a little stir-crazy, so it’s nice to get out on the town… and it never hurts when the company’s footing the bill.
A few Fridays back, we cut out of work early and headed out for a late afternoon of rowdy fun. This was a way to celebrate the signing of Section 8, our upcoming first-person shooter to be published by Gamecock, and also a reward for all the hard work that the team put in on the various projects that we have ongoing.
We went to the nearest Dave and Buster’s and enjoyed a long afternoon and evening of fun and cutting loose. As much as everyone loves to work together, it’s always nice to socialize a bit. We believe that by promoting balance between work and leisure, we are building a great team!
In short, there was food, pool, shuffleboard and, of course, arcade games! Being a group of competitive spirited folks, we held a push-up challenge. We had a few brave souls tackle the 50-pushup goal, and believe it or not, it seems like making video games does build a strong pair of pectorals! The winners walked away with a small prize, but more importantly – bragging rights. Now we’re just trying to get people to focus on their work again, instead of just getting buff for the next challenge.
